In honor of today being Earth Day, we wanted to create a list sharing some of our favorite outdoor activities in Dallas-Fort Worth. The warmer weather has arrived and it’s not unbearably hot, so get out, explore and enjoy the amazing earth we get to call home.

1. The Zoo (Dallas & Fort Worth)
When it comes to combining education and conservation with the great outdoors, what better place to start than the zoo. Both the Dallas and Fort Worth zoos are home to more than 500 species of animals and boast incredible exhibits and habitats for the 2000+ animals they house. Both locations are great family-friendly destinations and have a true commitment to conservation, education and entertainment. Whether you’ve been recently or not at all, there is always something new to learn and discover at the Fort Worth Zoo and Dallas Zoo.

2. Cowtown Cycle Party
This is an unusual suggestion, but great for a group looking to tour Fort Worth in an unconventional way. Groups of up to 16 can rent the Cowtown Cycle Party cart, and spend it how you like; pedal the entire city or visit some of Fort Worth’s iconic locations, it’s up to you. Whether you’re a Fort Worth native or visiting for the first time, a ride on the Cowtown Cycle Party will give you a close-up look at Downtown and the Near Southside of Fort Worth that you can’t get any other way! Oh, and did we mention it’s BYOB? Check out all the details here.

3. Klyde Warren Park
Klyde Warren Park is slowly becoming one of Dallas’ most recognized community parks. Located centrally atop a major freeway makes this hotspot a great gathering place with spectacular city views. There is also no shortage of activities; from group fitness classes to food trucks and film screenings, we are confident that you will find something that you enjoy. Get the latest list of happenings on the Klyde Warren Park website.

4. Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary
We haven’t forgotten about Collin County and McKinney’s Heard Natural Science Museum. Founded in 1967, the Heard consists of a 289 acre wildlife sanctuary and a natural science museum for the primary purpose of educating children about nature. The Heard is a private organization and exists to bring nature and people together to discover, enjoy, experience, restore, and preserve our priceless environment. The Heard is home to several exhibits and activities for the entire family. To find out more about their new butterfly exhibit coming in June or other great activities they have planned, visit the Heard’s website.
